So, there was the virgins, the warriors (military connection), the healers (doctors), the philosophers (teachers), and the guardians (sheriff)

What the hell were the werewolf sacrifices suppose to be?

uh derek has killed innocent people as well and wanted to kill lydia without even know what she was... he and jennifer go perfectly together.

Aside from Paige, who was dying and in a lot of pain, and Lydia, who he believed a rogue creature who couldn’t be stopped or controlled - just as he believed Boyd and Cora couldn’t be stopped or controlled, who has he killed?

Regardless, who Derek is now in the plot and character development, he doesn’t want innocent people killed.

So, I watched the last new episode of Teen Wolf. I thought Jennifer may be the Darach.

And I’ve seen the quotes for Haley’s interview about them being real feelings for each other.

I don’t think I’d have a problem with this if I didn’t think it would be against Derek’s character. He fought Boyd…

Peter said something earlier on during the season about how he and Derek tend to see things in shades of gray. While I’m not prone to trusting what Peter says in general, I think this is true.

You see this when Derek teamed up with Peter in Season 1. I don’t think it was because he approved of Peter, but because he was allying with him as a means to an end. You this when he then kills Peter to avenge his sister AND become Alpha. You see this with his willingness to kill the Kanima, whether it was Jackson or Lydia. I don’t think Derek wanted to kill, but he felt it was the best way to solve the problem. You this with him aligning with Argent on the full moon to catch Boyd and Cora and with his willingness to kill them if needed. He kept his personal feelings for them out of this.

Like Scott, I think Derek still has a lot to learn. He may not be a teenager, but he’s still young enough to be limited in his experiences and worldview.

I think many of Derek’s choices (be them bad or good) are based on choosing the lesser of two evils. Once you go down that slope, it’s more difficult to come back to seeing a clear right or wrong. It all becomes shades of gray. His vision is irrevocably altered.

I think Derek views Jennifer through this lens and his very real need for connection with someone. He knows he’s not a stereotypical “hero” who can claim the moral high ground. But he believes he makes the best choices he can to do what’s necessary for survival and to solve his problems. So does Jennifer.

Maybe being with someone who also walks that blurred moral line is a powerful enough connection for him.

I can definitely see what you’re saying. Can he really love her, though? Working with her is one thing but having genuine love for her, I’m not sure I can accept that. The first time they were together, she was also trying to force two of his betas and Scott and Ethan to commit suicide.

Like I said, I wouldn’t mind Derek with Jennifer if it were believable to me that he could love someone who has killed so many innocent people.

Thanks for your thoughts! :D

How many innocent people has Jennifer killed? Nine? I don’t see how Derek can look past that and be with her still. If he does, it would be against every thought I had about him and his character.

Another fan said that if she saved his sister, then he’d be grateful and see her in a new light. Well, I don’t think Cora’s going to survive, sadly. Derek’s luck isn’t that good and anyway, she’s only saving her so they’d protect her from the Alpha Pack.

So, what happens when a ‘True Alpha’, like Scott, kills an alpha, like Derek, before he becomes the True Alpha naturally?

And is that why Deucalion is so eager for Scott to kill Derek? To take away his True Aphaness before he can become that strong?
